I have a 13.2hh black and white mustang gelding that is about 5 years old. His hip is tilted so the left side sits lower than the right but, according to the vet, with chiropractic aid he should be able to be made sound. Other than that he is love able and very very inquisitive. He is skittish with new people but gets over it quickly. When I purchased him (sound at the time) he had been in a herd of about 40 with little to no handling. He is now very easy to handle in a halter and lead, when he was sound I sat on him bareback and had a saddle on. He yields front and back and backs up by wiggling the rope. He lounges alright but still needs to learn his gaits. He walks, trots and gallops in the pasture without problem from the hip though if he gets to rambunctious in his play he gets a little tender. We have had him visit us in the house (did it on his own and likes to check to see if our door is open when he can) and he loves bathes when it is warm enough. He must be out by tonight or hopefully in the morning after that....I really don't know. The house he is at is the house we used to live in. We went through bankruptcy and the bank has seized our home. It goes for auction tomorrow morning around 10 a.m. We really need him out of them before then. We do not have a horse trailer nor do we know anyone that has one that we could borrow or rent. Please call 503-720-9271 and leave a message if I don't answer. Reception is shotty at our new house so sometimes I miss the call but get the message. He has very lovely and unique markings. |
