INTRODUCTION:

This is a new project for the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary, and so our policies and rules may be revised often for awhile until we reach our intended purpose for the LFS Adoption Center. For more information on the Sanctuary itself you can visit our main site. The short version is: we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Oregon dedicated to the welfare of abandoned and abused farm animals.

How to use this adoption website PDF Print E-mail

To put an animal up for adoption:

  1. Register on our website.
  2. Post an adoption notice in the proper category that includes:
    • Your contact details.
    • Full description of the animal(s).
    • IMPORTANT: Set an adoption fee for each animal that reflects the true market value. This adoption fee will be paid by the adopting person to the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary. These adoption fees will be used to support this website and the work of the Sanctuary.
  3. If you adopt an animal out, please let us know.

To adopt an animal:

  1. You do NOT need to register to use this website to adopt an animal.
  2. After selecting an animal, contact the person adopting out the animal and work out the details of inspecting and gaining physical custody of the animal(s).

If you wish to use our site please be aware of these policies and rules:

  1. Our focus is the state of Oregon. We are not opposed to submissions from other areas, but our organization is located in the Willamette Valley, Scio, Oregon.
  2. Read the entire Introduction and Purpose section of our website, which includes legal notices.
  3. Although posting notices on this site is free, if you are successful in adopting or adopting out animals using this site, we request that a fair market adoption fee be sent to the Sanctuary by the person adopting the animal(s). Donations to the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary are tax deductible (please consult your tax preparer). Your donations will help us to maintain this site, and continue our work with abused and neglected farm animals. Donations should be sent to:

We would like to thank those people who have tried our adoption site. As you can see if you are a regular visitor, we are now able to make the front page spotlight some of the adoptions offered instead of the adoption process instructions.

 It can take a year or more for a project like this to catch on, so please continue to give us time to grow. You may find that your offering goes unanswered, or every time you return you see little change. This will be true for some time as the LFS Adoption Center tries to get the word out about its existence.
